Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital (SRH) conducts a mega-medical camp in Dixal village, Gujarat
For thousands of rural families, access to quality healthcare is rare and expensive. Families usually have to travel very long distances to reach hospitals, and even then, the financial burden of medical treatment is a concern. SRLC has been conducting routine medical camps in remote villages under the Shrimad Rajchandra Medical Outreach Programme. One such camp was recently organised in the village of Dixal in Gujarat, in collaboration with the NGO BAIF.
The team of doctors who conducted the camp comprised of specialists in various fields such as General Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Surgery, and Dentistry. Over 225 patients were examined and treated, and 35 patients were referred to Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital for further treatment. Varied medical tests were also performed and medication was given free of cost to all patients.
A health awareness and interaction session with villagers was also organised, during which topics including nutrition, hygiene, early signs of cancer, and importance of early intervention were discussed. Rural folk were also made aware of various government health schemes currently being implemented at Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital, through which they can benefit.
