Shrimad Rajchandra Mahila Gruha Udyog

Employment has Transformed Rupli's Life

When Rupli’s husband was diagnosed with a major illness that prevented him from working, she was suddenly faced with the responsibility of being the breadwinner in the family. She struggled daily as the family slipped into poverty. When she was offered a job through Shrimad Rajchandra Mahila Gruha Udyog (SRMGU), her life changed forever. She uses her skills productively and hand-crafts food products and incense sticks in a clean, safe and friendly environment, working alongside and making friends with other women. The money she earns enables Rupli to support her family and pay for her husband’s treatment – an extremely empowering and liberating experience.

TESTIMONIALS

“I came to know about Shrimad Rajchandra Mahila Gruha Udyog (SRMGU) from my village women folk and the personal development that these ladies had experienced working there. Knowing this, I was inspired to join this initiative and began working here. The best aspect of Shrimad Rajchandra Mahila Gruha Udyog is that they imparted training to me to ensure I learnt the process well and once I was well versed with it, they ensure continuous growth and development. Working at this project for the last 4 years, I can say that it has helped in the progress of my entire family, consisting of my husband and three children.”

REPORTS

Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital saves the life of a pregnant lady suffering from multiple complications

Sumitra Rathi, a 25-year-old pregnant anemic lady, was admitted to the gynaecology ward at Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital (SRH) following complaints of abdominal pain and fever. Upon admission, she was diagnosed with suffering from jaundice and typhoid fever. Despite being treated with antibiotics for the fever and receiving blood transfusions for her anemia, Sumitra did not show any signs of improvement initially. Given the added complication of her pregnancy and imminent delivery, she was shifted to the ICU for monitoring and further treatment. After giving birth to a healthy baby the next day, Sumitra’s health worsened as she was diagnosed with multi-organ failures and puerperal sepsis. An echocardiogram further revealed that the functionality of her heart had also deteriorated to a critically low level. Even after a 3-day intensive treatment and usage of an external ventilator, Sumitra remained at a critically unstable level. With relentless efforts and continuous monitoring by SRH’s team of doctors, she began to show signs of a recovery with improved respiration and decreased infection count. Her heart began to show improved functions and her jaundice gradually reduced. After 10 days in the ICU, her condition improved and she was transferred back to the ward where she could finally spend time with her newborn baby. Sumitra’s recovery is another heart-warming story of hard work, hope, determination and a miraculous recovery at SRH!
