“Previously, I didn’t really have any stable job – I would just stay at home and attend to daily chores, but I was looking for something more. When I heard of these mehendi classes, I was very eager to join. The teachers here were extremely supportive and friendly, and answered all our queries with patience. They also provided us with all resources such as mehendi cones free of cost, which was very beneficial for me.
Towards the end of the course, a competition was organised in which famous mehendi artists Hansaji and Jyotiji Gajra came as judges. I was so excited when I won the first prize and was awarded a training package worth Rs. 25,000 at the Hansa Gajra Mehendi Institute which helped further advance my skills. I recently even booked my first ever professional mehendi order, and that meant a lot to me.
Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care has given me a platform to rise and stand on my own own legs, and for that I will always be grateful and thankful.”
Nargis Shaikh Yusuf participated in a vocational course organised by Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care through which women in Mumbai from low income backgrounds were taught the art of mehendi. Last year itself, over 200 such vocational sessions were organised in Mumbai alone! Through such initiatives organised under the Humanitarian Care programme, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care continues to empower women from lesser privileged backgrounds.
