The journey of Sonali Dusane, a girl from Vansda, Gujarat, is an inspiring story of what can happen when passion and perseverance is given the right environment and opportunity to bloom. Born into a traditional household, Sonali was destined to live a normal life of a girl brought up in her community. However, once she enrolled in Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul, things began to change. The holistic education she received here, gave her the confidence that she can aspire to become a doctor. After completing her 12th Standard in SRG, Sonali went on to join a medical institute in Karnataka. She recently passed BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) with a first class. Today, Sonali is the first ex-student of SRG to become a doctor. Coming from a very humble background, it is no small feat that Sonali will now be able to provide financial support to her family. She aspires to work in Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital which serves the rural community.
“I am fortunate to do the lokarpan ceremony of Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyapeeth at Dharampur. Shrimad Rajchandraji had experienced God at a young age and is a legendary saint of the recent times, and the guiding light of Mahatma Gandhi. Any institution associated with His name is sure to produce socially-responsible, morally conscious, truth-seeking and well-rounded individuals. I congratulate the commendable contribution of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur and its holistic social developmental 10-care programme – Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care. I offer whole-hearted support from the Government for SRLC’s upcoming social endeavours.”
As part of the event, there was an impromptu experience sharing session during which few ex-students took the stage. Dr. Sonali Dusane (SRG batch of 2012), who recently passed the BAMS degree with first class, shared how much she enjoyed school and expressed her gratitude. It was an opportunity for them to meet their friends and mentors, but most importantly to cherish and express their gratitude for Pujya Gurudevshri’s immense love and grace.
